Arete treats health and wellness data as highly sensitive. This summary explains what we collect, why, and the control you have.

Where your data lives
Your health, training, and nutrition entries are stored locally on your device (in your browser), not on Arete servers. Only your account credentials (email and login) are held by our authentication provider so you can sign in.
What we collect
The account email you provide, and the health and activity data you choose to enter — which stays on your device. We do not run advertising trackers.
How AI analysis works
When you ask the coach or analyze a food photo, that request is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) solely to generate your response, then discarded. Photos and messages are not stored by Arete or used to train models.
How we use it
To generate your plan and recommendations and to operate and secure the service. We never sell your data or place private health data in analytics URLs, query strings, public logs, or advertising events.
Your controls
Because your health data lives on your device, you can export or clear it anytime from the app, and deleting your account removes your login. Clearing your browser storage removes local data immediately.
